Important - Snake Alert

Please be advised it is very important to keep your screen doors closed at all times.
As the Valley reaches temperatures of 80 degrees and higher, everything in the desert comes alive and snakes come out.
Bullsnakes have been seen in the desert area surrounding the Village and near our Villas. While they are non-venomous, they are large and their appearance can be frightening. When threatened by anything as large as a human, a bullsnake's primary defense is to rear up and make it look as large as possible. They typically then begin lunging and backtracking at the same time in order to escape. Bullsnakes are sometimes mistaken for rattlesnakes by laypersons.
Because Arizona is home to various rattlesnake species, you should also be aware of the potential to encounter a venomous snake.
During hot days, snakes tend to hide in moist, damp and shady areas. Never put a hand or foot into an area – such as a hole, meter box, under rocks or bushes – if you can’t see what’s there. And again, please keep your screen doors closed so they do not enter your Villa seeking shade.
Never attempt to remove a snake yourself; leave it to a trained professional.
Please call 911 for the Carefree Fire Department if you encounter a snake in your Villa and they will remove it and release it back in the desert.
Do not ever kill snakes as they play an important part in maintaining the delicate balance of the desert ecosystem.
Fire officials also warn people working or recreating outdoors to be extra careful given that as the weather continues to warm, snakes will be more prevalent.
The public is also advised to not get close to snakes and to not underestimate their abilities to strike.
Please share this important information with your guests and renters.

Internet System installation - ON HOLD

The new Internet System installation is on hold pending further review of some technical considerations and the budget for the project by the Board. New Internet System - IMPORTANT INFORMATION We have completed our internet testing trials. We have 5 Villas up and running on the new system and we have been extremely pleased with the performance, reliability and signal strength. Based on these results, we are reviewing the next steps of the project and budget. Many thanks to all who have participated in the testing. Internet Has Been Repaired – Up & Running

We are pleased to report the Internet or VILLAGE_AT_CAREFREE network is currently back up and running. All villas in the Village will now have access to the internet.
We thank Riz Rasheed, City Property’s Internet Specialist for his outstanding support and pulling a rabbit out of a hat for us on this one. Special thanks to Internet Committee Member Dave Sharpless for his support work onsite which was invaluable and instrumental in making this repair happen in a timely way.
We hope to present a proposal to the Board at the next Board meeting for a completely new DSL based technology system which would use our existing telephone cabling.

Internet Repair - 7 day solution pending

We have approved moving forward with a reasonably priced repair option for the DSLAM in the Clubhouse which would restore the Internet to the 1/3 of Owners who are currently down.
This should take approximately 7 days to turn around as the DSLAM will need to be sent to manufacturer Netsys in Maryland for repair.
We will still be pursuing an option to replace the entire system but this will restore service in the meantime.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
